He is...........

"Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor." Exodus 6:23

God had spoken to Moses about asking Pharaoh to let His people go. Moses, after a lot of questions and objections, went to Pharaoh along with Aaron. Over and over again he refused to release the Israelites from their labors. In fact he made things worse by insisting they collect their own straw to make the bricks and in the same time frame they were still supposed to produce their full quota of bricks.

As instructed by God, Moses and Aaron had brought together all the elders of Israel and Aaron told them everything the Lord had said to Moses, who also performed the signs before the people and they believed . When they heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshipped.

However, when Pharaoh hardened his heart and made their lives even worse, they got really mad at Moses and Aaron, blaming them for what was happening to the people of Israel. Moses returned to the Lord and God gave him a word to take back to the people that in essence said, I am the Lord, who will bring you out of this enslavement by my mighty acts. He reported this to them but they wanted to hear none of it. They were so discouraged by their harsh treatment, that they refused to acknowledge what God had said.

Today, just like them, so many of us still choose to believe our circumstances over what God says in His word.

Many times we throw our hands up in despair and panic when things go wrong, even though God has said He is a present help in our time of trouble.(Psalm 46:1)

Even though God has met our needs time and time again, whenever it seems like an impossible situation is before us, we often choose to worry first forgetting that He promises to supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philipians 4:19)

According to 2 Cor. 5:7 we walk by faith and not by sight. Our hope is in God and not in how our circumstances look, no matter how dire they may be.

Today I want to encourage you to look away from whatever would burden you and look to God. He is a covenant making and a covenant keeping God. He will keep His word. He has never changed and He will not fail you.

Find Him in His word and see that He is Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides if that's what you need.

He is Jehovah Nissi, the Lord our banner, if you need covering.
He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, if you are sick today.
He is Jehovah Shalom, the Lord our peace, if you are troubled today.

Whatever you need Him to be, He is willing to be to meet your every need.

Blessings,
Vickie

Vickie, I think you must write for me alone--are you looking in my window? I thank God for your messages and how you share in a way that touches me deeply.
