Following the Lord's command for 2010

The Lord your God commands you this day to follow these decrees and laws; carefully observe them with all your heart and with all your soul. You have declared this day that the Lord is your God and that you will walk in obedience to Him, that you will keep His decrees, commands and laws - that you will listen to Him. And the Lord has declared this day that you are His people, His treasured possession as He promised, and that you are to keep all His commands. He has declared that He will set you in praise, fame and honor high above all the nations He has made and that you will be a people holy to the Lord your God, as He promised. Deuteronomy 26:16-19

We have just started a new year and I am so grateful. Not necessarily grateful to see 2009 go-even though it had its share of heartaches-as much as I am grateful that I am still in the hands of the Lord.

I could stay here all day and night and talk about the faithfulness of God. He has shown Himself to me in so many ways. Every time I open His word He has revealed a bit more of His amazing self. Even though I am appreciative of all He has done in providing for myself, family and friends who share about His goodness, I am most humbled at learning more about Him.

I love that He is a provider and a protector among other things, but I so love knowing God for who He is and that has been my path of 2009. With that I continue to look forward to learning more of Him and His ways.

As I spent time in His word the last day seeking His face and direction for 2010 the above portion of scripture was so impressed on my heart by the Holy Spirit that I commit to using it as a theme for my life for 2010 and beyond.

I truly commit to following God's commands, knowing that as I do He will keep His promises to me. He has declared that He will set me in praise, fame and honor.

Lord, I humble myself under Your Mighty Hand this day, knowing that in due time you will exalt. Holy Spirit, thank You for your help as I seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteous. In Jesus name.

blessings,
Vickie
