A High Praise

Every now and then I have to stop and give God a high praise. I often use my own words in my own feeble way but I am so blessed when the very word of God fills my memory and my spirit and I am able to praise God with His own words. I love it when I am able to say exactly what He says. So today I just want to share with you a portion of the Word that I've been thinking on. This wasn't what I originally was using for my devotion but when it was referenced in another portion of scripture and I saw the full context I had to just read it over and over again.

So today's blog post is taken from Isaiah 40:18-31 (NIV). I hope it blesses you as it has me. I pray it stirs your spirit up like nothing else can and I pray that as I am doing, you meditate on it so that the very life it represents becomes a part of you.

With whom then, will you compare God? To what image will you liken Him?
As for an idol, a metal worker casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and fashions silver chains for it.
People too poor to present such an offering select wood that will rot. They look for a skilled worker to set up an idol that will not topple.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than He blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
"To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, "My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God?"
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Jesus, I thank You for Your Word. It is spirit and it is life to me. I pray Your Word never becomes dull to me. Lord, I have put my hope in Your Word for I know Your laws are righteous. May it always be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. May I always, always find comfort in Your Word. In Jesus name.
Amen

Have a Wonderful Word-filled Day friends.

A great portion of Scripture to meditate on, Vickie!! Thanks for posting it! Praying God's Word IS so powerful and pleasing to Him! I'm sharing a Bible study with our church ladies' group next Thursday and the Lord keeps reminding me of this. Looking forward to seeing how He uses it! God bless you!

Great post, and such a beautiful Bible passage, another one of my favorites.

With your permission, I have posted on my blog just now your recent entry entitled The Promise.

I was given permission by Mr. Lars Justinen to use one of his lovely paintings of Abraham and Sarah!

May God be given the glory through your words.

Love
Lidj
