WFW-The Fuel Of Praise

My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise His Holy Name for ever and ever. Psalm 145:21

One cold November night 2009, while waiting at a bus stop my husband decided to spend his time praising God. During this time of praise and worship he stopped and asked God, ''What fuels praise?" and the answer that came back to his spirit from God was, "Testimonies fuel praise, while praise is the foundation of worship."

When you look at it praise and worship may seem to be the same thing, but actually praise is all about what God has done for us. Our testimonies of His provision, His faithfulness and His goodness causes us to praise Him over and over. As we spend our time telling about all that He has done we can't help but worship Him. Worship is all about Him. Worship is talking about His character, His integrity, its all about who He is.

Some stop at praising.

Some stop at just talking about the doors He has opened, which is good.
Some stop at just talking about the healing they have received, which is good.
Some stop at just talking about Him shielding them from accidents, which is good.

But today I want to encourage us all to go to another level, to go even deeper.
Let's worship Him for worship is all about Him.

If He never healed us again still lets worship Him for He is Jehovah Rapha.
If He never provided food or shelter again for us, still let's worship Him for He is Jehovah Jireh.

Wouldn't it be awesome to get to that place where we worship Him as much or even more when everything is dark and dismal around us?
What a way to confuse the enemy of our souls when we can lift our hands in trying times and say, "Lord, You are altogether lovely, There is none as equal to You Lord, I worship you Almighty God."

Even though we love receiving from His hand, He wants us to come to that place in the inner court where we worship Him just because HE IS. Not because of anything that He has done for us but just because He is God. When we seek His face and only His face we can be assured that His hand will be open to us. He loves us and if He so graciously gave us His only Son, there is no way that He wouldn't freely give us all that we need.

Thank you Jesus for an open invitation to come to know You for who are. We thank You for revealing Yourself to those who would diligently seek after You. Give us hearts of gratitude that would lead us to a place of consecrated worship. We bless you Lord, we honor you Jesus, we magnify and glorify You, we welcome Your presence O Holy Spirit. With every breath we breathe may we enthrone You. In Jesus name.

Have an awesome Word-filled-Wednesday
