Over and over again

My son and I have been here at the hospital for one week now.

Since his surgery and even before in anticipation that he could have surgery, we have been hearing the same thing over and over and over again. We hear it from the nurses, the nurses' aides, the surgeon, the surgical team, the physicians' assistant and the physician himself. The message has been consistent. My son needs to walk, he needs to be moving, this is very very important to his recovery. Even if we tire of hearing it, they are never tired of saying it, because it is a message that needs to be heard.

Such is the message of the bible as I sat on my son's bed this morning, hearing the same message again, and thinking on it. We need the word of God all the time. We need to read it as often as possible, we need to hear it as often as possible. Hear it on our cd's, on our Ipods, we need to write it on our blogs, on our websites. We need the word of God all the time, from all kind of sources. It is not enough to talk about ourselves and how we are living, we must proclaim the Living God each chance we get. He must be part of our conversations. On our thoughts as we meditate.

It's important for the doctors to say it because the message is important. Sunday isn't enough for our souls. Reading it once in a while isn't enough either. We must be constantly filled with the knowledge of God.

Since every doctor and nurse on every shift has been saying the same thing over and over, Chad himself is now initiating movement. He is asking to walk instead of me having to ask him. He is recognizing the importance of the message.

We place more value on God's word in our lives, the more we read it and the more we hear it. It becomes a part of us. We are more prone to obedience if we frequently hear the word of God.

Colossians 3:16 "Let the message of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another..........

Being rich in something is not just having a lot, but having an excess. I want to be really really rich in God's word. Even as I stay by my son's side, I use every opportunity to read and study while he is asleep. Even if it's only a small bit at a time.

I encourage you today to get in the Word, get more and more and still more of it. Be determined to fill on God's word today.

Blessings,
Vickie

Amen and Amen! The Word of God should be our lifeline! I am constantly amazed at how it touches me at random times, needed times and quiet times. It truly is food for my soul. I'm so grateful that I began blogging, because it gives me more opportunity to dwell on His Word, whether through my own blog, or through those of my bloggy friends. May God bless and keep you and your son, and may He continue to bring healing to the body!

I'm glad Chad is up walking! What a long week you've had but isn't it wonderful that God is right by our sides lifing us up during times when we need him the most?
I hope he goes home soon!

Praising the Lord that Chad is walking and that through it all you are able to be in His Holy Word.

May you be strengthened in the Lord and may Chad continue to be healed! Blessings to you both!!

The Word of God is our own personal love letter, who doesn't love reading a love letter written by one who TRULY loves us?

It is our personal blue print for how to walk this journey on earth.

It is the diagram pointing us towards our heavenly home, for those that Jesus is their LORD and Savior. And it points those that are not, in the way to how they can.

I love God's word, Vickie loves God's word, and we desire for YOU to love God's word. Right Girlfriend?

Blessings and love to you and your precious son.
